Mellie Watson Mellie Boagni-Watson was appointed to the ARDC in 2006 by former Governor Mike Huckabee. She currently serves as Chair of the ARDC and member of the RCGP sub-committee. Mellie is currently employed as Director of UAMS Delta AHEC South. Her job has recently expanded to serve as project support for the Greater Delta Alliance for Health, a non-profit coalition of six rural hospitals spread across four counties in southeast Arkansas. Mellie enjoys cooking and spends her free time watching her two daughters, Lillie and Camille, on the softball field or archery range.

Wayne Nichols

Wayne Nichols was appointed to the ARDC by the Speaker on the House in 2007 and currently serves as Vice-Chair. He also serves as Chair of the Rural Services Block Grant sub-committee. Mr. Nichols is retired after 43 years with E. Ritter & Company. He has served 6 years and 8 months in the House of Representatives and is currently a member of Arkansas Good Roads, Chamber of Commerce, and the American Legion. He is married to Gail and enjoys reading and gardening.

Sam E. Angel II was appointed to the ARDC by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2000 and appointed to a full five year term by the Governor in February of this year. He serves as the Chair for the Rural Community Grant Program sub-committee. Mr. Angel is a former member of the Arkansas General Assembly. He is the Vice President of Epstein Land Co. and Epstein Gin Co. and enjoys hunting and other outdoor activities.

Clyde A. "Tony" Ferguson was appointed to the ARDC in 2008 by Governor Mike Beebe. He currently serves on the RSBGP sub-committee. He is a retired residential and commercial contractor with two daughters and a son. His hobbies include horseback riding and working on his ranch in Beebe.

Dennis Donahou was appointed to the ARDC in 2008 by Governor Mike Beebe. He serves on the RSBGP sub-committee. Dennis and his wife Dollie have three children. He enjoys hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. Dennis works as the Executive Secretary/Treasurer for the Arkansas Regional Council of Carpenters.

Stan Berry was appointed to the ARDC in January 2009 by Speaker of the House, Robbie Wills. Stan is currently employed as Manager of Community Relations for Southwestern Energy Company in Conway, AR.  He retired after 33 years of employment with CenturyTel Phone Company. He has previously served in the Arkansas House of Representatives (2003-2008), as a member of the Arkansas School Board Association, as a member of the Dover School Board for eighteen years, and on the Dover City Council for five years. Stan is married to Mona with whom he shares four grown children: Blake, Casey, Kelsey, and Justin. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, hunting, and fishing.

Dale Freeman was appointed to the ARDC in 2007 by Governor Mike Beebe. He serves on the RSBGP sub-committee. He is now retired after 36 years of service in the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He serves as the long time mayor of Portia, Chairman of the Lawrence County Democratic Central Committee, and received the 2005 Harold Jinks award from the Arkansas Democratic Party. Dale enjoys fishing, hunting, and cattle farming. Dale and his wife Mary also enjoy spending time with their son, three daughters, and five grandchildren.

Bob Lucky was appointed to the ARDC in 2008 by Governor Mike Beebe. He serves on the County Fair sub-committee. He works as a Chevrolet Dealer in McGehee. Bob and his wife Alesia have two children. He enjoys hunting, tennis, traveling, and water sports. In addition to serving on the ARDC, he also serves as Chairman of Arkansas Tennis Patrons, 1st National Bank of McGehee Board, McGehee Industrial Foundation Board, Chairman of the McGehee Water Commission, and is a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

John C. "Smokey" Campbell was appointed to the ARDC in 2009 by President Pro Tempore, Senator Bob Johnson.  He is currently employed as a Territory Sales Manager for Arysta Life Science.  He is married to Kathy and they have one son.  In his free time, Smokey, likes to hunt and golf.

David Johnson was appointed to the ARDC in 2009 by Governor Mike Beebe.  He has been the Vice-Mayor of Hope for over 15 years and also owns and operates a car dealership there.  he serves at the Chairman of the Hospital Board in Hope, on the Board of Directors for Southwest Development, and is a Commissioner for the Hope Tourism Board.  He is also a member of the U of A Letterman Club and a former Razorback Football player.  David is married to Alma and they have two children, Bryant and Nicole.  He enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren and helping out in his community in his spare time.

Scot Erwin was appointed to the ARDC in 2009 by President Pro Tempore, Bob Johnson.  Scot is a Firefighter for the City of Conway.  He is also a member of the International Association of Firefighters. He is married to Kelli and they have two sons, Tyler and Brett.  In his free time he enjoys hunting and fishing.
