NOTICE OF RULEMAKING

Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated § 25-15-201 et seq., notice is hereby given that the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology is considering proposed revisions to its Rules. A public hearing will be held on September 15, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the South Basement Conference Room at 101 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock. Written comments from the public will be accepted in advance of the meeting if received at the Board office by the close of business on Friday, September 12, 2008. Written comments should be mailed to the Board at 101 E. Capitol Ave., Suite 108, Little Rock AR 72201.

The proposed revisions are wholesale modifications of the Rules and include, but are not limited to, changes to the following sections: Fees, Examinations, Health and Safety, General Licensure Requirements for a Cosmetology Establishment, Cosmetology School Requirements, Instructor Training, Complaint Policy and Equipment and Chemical Use in Cosmetology. Copies of the proposed revisions are available for public inspection and may be obtained at the Board office or online at http://www.arkansas.gov/cos/.
