LITTLE ROCK-- Cybersecurity will be the topic of a keynote address by Mark Myers, state chief technology officer and director of the Arkansas Department of Information Systems (DIS), to attendees of the Arkansas TechJunction Conference, Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in Little Rock. Myers will speak about the increasing threat of cyberattacks in the public sector, the costs associated with remediating the damage after a data breach occurs and the protective assets that can be leveraged to safeguard state data and sensitive information.
“The federal government is now saying cyberattacks trump terrorism as the number one threat to the United States,” Myers said. “Network security is a leading concern of chief information officers and chief technology officers across the nation. With the explosion of number of Internet connected devices and cloud computing pushing the IT landscape farther away from organizations, the public and private sector will need to work together to close vulnerabilities.”
The Arkansas TechJunction conference will be held at the Statehouse Convention Center from 8:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Myers presentation is scheduled for 3 p.m. The conference is an annual event hosted by F2F Events, Inc. for IT professionals focusing on the latest developments in information security, IT infrastructure and communications.
