Managing Mobile Devices, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security are Central Themes for 2012 Arkansas Digital Government Summit

Arkansas strives to lead the nation in leveraging technology to generate initiatives that expand citizen access to public information and services. In perpetuating the strategies that increase government efficiency and advance the delivery of public services to Arkansans, Arkansas Chief Technology Officer Claire Bailey in partnership with Government Technology Magazine, and e.Republic, Inc., is organizing the 2012 Arkansas Digital Government Summit.

“As we look to the future of continuing our online, mobile, consumer driven digital state, the Arkansas Digital Government Summit provides the opportunity to share ideas, build collaboration, and envision the next generation of technologies together. The 2012 summit will help further strengthen partnerships that realize the transformational value of IT in finding innovating and cost effective solutions to improve services and efficiencies across all aspects of government,” Bailey said.

The event is designed for and about state and local government with the overall goal of fostering discussion and dialogue and educating participants with regard to the use of IT as a strategic tool and will cover a wide range of topics such as:

• Technology Convergence (Unified Communications)
• Bringing Clouds Down to Earth
• Mobile Device Management
• Identity Management & Cyber Security
• Workplace of the Future

Cathilea Robinett, executive vice president of e.Republic, the Center for Digital Government and Education's parent company, will also help us take a look around the corner to answer questions about how IT is shaping and changing the way government and the private sector conduct business and how we will sustain relevance in a world of constant change.

Last year’s event attracted hundreds of information technology leaders from across the state as well as state and local government leaders, policy makers, managers, executives, and agency directors. The 2012 summit is scheduled for Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the Embassy Suites, in Little Rock.
