
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is Arkansas's largest state agency with more than 8,000 positions in 181 offices across all 75 counties. Each county has at least one local office where citizens can apply for positions within the county office.
DHS Employees work in 13 divisions along with 8 support offices to provide services to more than 1 million Arkansans each year. Many families experience stresses and when they need help to cope with them, DHS is there.
DHS has trained professionals to help children and families with their problems. Our staff is there for families who need support to keep their children at home, for families who temporarily cannot care for their own children, and to help solve the family and community issues which contribute to these difficulties.
