The Arkansas Employment Security
Department, Arkansas Department of Human Services and the
Arkansas Division of Services for the Blind are pleased to
announce that America's Jobline is up and running in
Arkansas. This service makes it possible for anyone in
Arkansas to conduct a job search of available job listings
in the America's Job Bank system by telephone. Numerous
Arkansans currently face barriers to conducting a job
search including transportation, disability, or a lack of
computer skills. Many of these barriers can be overcome by
utilizing this new service. The call is toll-free and the
service is operational twenty-four hours a day, seven days
a week.
By simply dialing 1-800-414-5748 in
Arkansas, the user can set up a personal profile and
search for specific types of jobs by zip code or
geographic area. The user will be provided with the job
order number, information about the salary and educational
requirements, location of the job and how to apply or
secure an interview. Once a user has set up their personal
profile, they can call in to get updated lists of jobs of
the same type, or modify the profile to search for
additional types of employment. Because the service is
provided to any Arkansan with out cost and requires only a
touch-tone phone to use, it may be inordinately beneficial
to those who have limited access to transportation, those
who need to search after hours or without available child
care, and anyone who has a barrier to reading print
including those with limited vision, a learning, a
disability or an individual with limited literacy skills.

SETTING THE PROFILE-PRESS "2" AT OPENING MENU OR

Step 1
When
prompted, select the area for your job search by
pressing "#" for nationwide or by entering the
5-digit zip code you choose. Confirm the zip code by
pressing "1" or change the zip code by
pressing "2.
Step 2
When
prompted, identify the mileage range (up to 500 miles)
around the zip code chosen and press"#."
Confirm the mileage by pressing "I" or change
the mileage by pressing "1"
Step 3
When
prompted, choose a major job category from one of 41
presented. Press "#" to select the major job
type desired and confirm by following the prompts.
Step 4
When
prompted, select any one of the subcategories listed
under the major job type chosen by pressing
"#" and confirm by following the prompts.
Step 5
Press
"1" to exit the list without making a
selection.
RETURNING TO THE
JOB-SEARCH MENU-PRESS "**"
When
returning to the opening menu, press:
1-To search
for jobs under an existing profile
2-To review or change a profile

CHECKING SPELLING-PRESS "3" TO START
When using
