The Arkansas State Hospital (ASH) is a 202-bed psychiatric inpatient
facility licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health and the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and accredited by the
Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
(JCAHO). The hospital includes 90 beds for acute psychiatric
admission; a 60-bed forensic treatment services program which offers
assistance to circuit courts throughout the state; a 16-bed
adolescent treatment program for youth 13-18; and a 16-bed program
for juvenile sex offenders. The Arkansas State Hospital has
been providing quality psychiatric care to the citizens of Arkansas
since 1873.
