SPECIAL NUTRITION PROGRAMS
The Special Nutrition Programs provide reimbursement
for well-balanced, nutritious meals served to individuals enrolled in
participating programs.
This program provides reimbursement to organizations
providing licensed nonresidential day-care services. Adult day-care centers may participate. Organizations may be reimbursed for two meals and one supplement
or one meal and two supplements per day per child.

non-profit private ownership in a single building or complex of buildings. Organizations that are licensed to provide
residential child-care services are also eligible to participate in this
program. Institutions may be reimbursed
for breakfast and lunch.

This program provides reimbursement to any school or
non-profit institution based on the number of half-pints of milk served to
participating children. Reimbursement
was provided for 114,512 half-pints of milk served to children in camps and
schools in SFY 2001.
