James C. Green, Ph.D
Dr. Green has been the Director
of the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, Arkansas
Department of Human Services, since February of 2003. Prior to
his appointment, he served as the Superintendent of the
Alexander Human Development Center, a 112 bed Intermediate Care
Facility for the Mentally Retarded, for four years. A native of
Monticello, Arkansas, he earned a Ph.D. in Special Education
with an emphasis in Mental Retardation and Behavioral Disorders
from the University of Missouri in 1994. Dr. Green has
experience as a Special Education teacher, having taught
children with all types of developmental disabilities. He has
owned and operated group homes as well as having served as a
consultant to many community based organizations that provide
services to people with developmental disabilities.
