INFANT & TODDLER PROGRAM |

|
PRIOR AUTHORIZATION
|
|
|
|
Q. |
Why did prior
authorizations for the Developmental Rehabilitation Program (DRS) end on June 30, 2003? Are new PA’s being issued for the Medicaid DRS Program?
|
|
A.
|
All
PA’s were terminated on June 30, 2003 for both the Medicaid and Part C funded services.
This was done to establish funding needed for each fiscal year.
Part C PA’s were scheduled to expire on that date as
always and required submission of a new request
for PA to be re-issued.
Due to the fact that the
termination of the Medicaid DRS PA’s was completed as the need was
identified, the Financial Support Section reissued the PA’s for the
new fiscal year. These
will end on the same time schedule that Part C
PA’s end and will require a new submission of a PA Request to
be re-issued in the future.

| Q. |
What is the best method to submit a PA request?
Mail or Fax?
|
| A. |
You
may submit by either method however, please submit by only one
method to avoid
duplication of PA. The
fax does ensure a date is recorded and provide back
to the submitter.
