Description: AmeriCorps members are developing a children's garden and accessible trails in a woodland garden on Lake Hamilton near Hot Springs National Park.  In addition, they conduct invasive weed control and recruit and manage volunteers. In the area of homeland security, they develop skills in fighting forest fires and are available to assist volunteer and other fire fighting agencies as needed.

Description: The Mid-Delta Community Consortium places AmeriCorps members in the Mississippi River Delta Region of the state.Members meet with individuals selected because of age, income and other indicators that place them at risk of not receiving adequate health care. Members assess their needs, help them complete applications for assistance they require and monitor their use of that assistance. Members  recruit volunteers to improve the delivery of health care services to service recipients.

Description: under the direction of mentor-teachers, members provide a minimum of 10 hours per week of one-on-one and small group tutoring services to more than 852 students in grades K-4 and specialized tutoring for an additional 50 ESL students to improve literacy and math skills.  Members also conduct parent involvement nights at their schools and design signature service projects.  They recruit volunteers for these projects and high school students to help tutor younger children in K-4 after school programs.
