| The Division of Children and Family Services maintains, via an
interagency agreement with the Arkansas State Police an around-the-clock
statewide intake process for accepting reports of alleged child
maltreatment. During state fiscal
year 2002, a total of 18,541 maltreatment reports were received and assessed. Of these abuse and neglect reports, 12,273
were unsubstantiated, 532 could not be completed because the family could not
be located and 30.94% (5,736) revealed preponderance of evidence of child
maltreatment. |
