Description:
Thirteen half-time, four quarter-time and five minimum-time members are developing a children's garden and
accessible trails in a woodland garden on Lake Hamilton
near Hot Springs National Park. In addition, they
conduct invasive weed control and recruit and manage
volunteers. In the area of homeland security, they develop
skills in fighting forest fires and are available to
assist volunteer and other fire fighting agencies as
needed.

Description:
The Mid-Delta Community Consortium places AmeriCorps
members in the Mississippi River Delta Region of the
state. One half-time and 12 full-time members meet with
individuals selected because of age, income and other
indicators that place them at risk of not receiving
adequate health care. Members assess
their needs, help them complete applications for
assistance they require and monitor their use of that
assistance. Members recruit volunteers to improve the
delivery of health care services to service recipients.
