Stop Violence Against Women Act (STOP) Recovery Program
 
Program Description
The STOP Recovery Program ‘s goals are to strengthen partnerships for safer communities and enhance the State’s capacity to prevent, solve, and control crime and to create and preserve jobs and promote economic recovery through the provision of services to adult women who are victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking or dating violence.
 
Eligible Program Participants
Public and private nonprofit organizations, judicial, law enforcement, prosecutorial and governmental entities, such as: offices of elected prosecuting attorneys; circuit or district courts.
 
Program Funding Period
June 1, 2009 through March 31, 2011
 
Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Recovery Program
 
Program Description
The VOCA Recovery Program’s goal is to provide direct services to crime victims in support of the Recovery Act objectives to preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery. Services are defined as those efforts that (1) respond to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims; (2) assist primary and secondary victims of crime to stabilize their lives after a victimization; (3) assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system; and (4) provide victims of crime with a measure of safety and security such as boarding-up broken windows and replacing or repairing locks.
 
Eligible Program Participants
Public and private nonprofit organizations that provide direct services to crime victims, including domestic violence shelters, child abuse programs, rape crisis centers, and law enforcement, prosecutorial and court-based victim assistance programs.
 
Program Funding Period
June 1, 2009 through March 31, 2011
