US Attorney Visits Laboratory

The Honorable Jane Duke, United States Attorney from the Eastern District of Arkansas, visited the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory and presented Certificates of Appreciation and United States Attorney Coins of Excellence to several Crime Laboratory employees in acknowledgement of their exemplary efforts supporting the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force in “Operation Samurai” in south-central Arkansas.

Kermit B. Channell II, Executive Director of the Laboratory, was awarded for his work as a Forensic Biologist in the DNA section of the laboratory. Dr. Charles Kokes, Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Arkansas, received recognition for his work as a Forensic Pathologist. Others honored included Gene Bangs, Forensic Chemist; Butch Linder, Forensic Ballistics Analysis as a Firearms Examiner; Larry Mullins, Latent Print Examiner; Don Riddle, Forensic Toxicologist; Chantelle Taylor, Criminalist; and Edward Vollman, Forensic Biologist/Serologist.
