RSPMI Providers

Re: Clarifications regarding monitoring of RSPMI facilities for compliance with minimum licensing requirements

Dear RSPMI Provider:

Attached are copies of a Procedural Directive to all Licensing staff dated February 1, 2007 and a document entitled “Clarifications for Monitoring RSPMI Facilities, effective February 1, 2007.”

We have been working closely with individual RSPMI providers and with the Arkansas Mental Health Council to develop the attached guidelines for monitoring RSPMI facilities.  We recognize that your facilities are accredited and that there are other differences when compared to the majority of facilities that we license. We want to insure that our contacts with your facility are handled in a courteous and professional manner and that our staff recognize and do not interfere with the unique and valuable services you deliver.  I would encourage you to use our staff members as a resource and to consider them as a partner in your efforts to deliver quality services in the safest possible environment.

If you have any concerns regarding cited licensing non-compliance or any other concerns regarding the licensing process or our field staff, please call Ratha Tracy at (501) 682-8590.  Ms. Tracy is our contact person for RSPMI matters and can assist you in working through any problems regarding licensure.

Sincerely,

David Griffin, Administrator
Licensing and Accreditation
