Board Members

Bob Dufour
Bob Dufour

Bob Dufour was appointed by Governor Mike Huckabee in July 2003. Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy in 1978 from the School of Pharmacy, University of Louisiana at Monroe. Work experience in Community Pharmacy includes chain and independent pharmacy practice. His management experience includes work as District Operations Manager, Regional Operations Manager, Director of Professional Services, and Director of Managed Care and Government Relations. In Professional Services Bob has worked with over 40 Boards of Pharmacy and attended Regional and National Boards of Pharmacy meetings. Government Relations work experience includes working with State Legislators and Medicaid Departments on State Medicaid Programs and Public Health Issues throughout the nation. Managed Care experience includes working with Healthcare plans, Insurance, and PBM’s on prescription benefit plans. Bob’s other related experience includes responsibility for Specialty Pharmacy and Mail Order operations.

Bob is a member of the Arkansas Pharmacist Association, NACDS, and FMI and has served on the Government Affairs Committee for NACDS and on the Pharmacy Committee for FMI. Bob is also a member of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy Board of Advisors, member of the Board of Directors for the Bentonville Sunshine School, and past member of the Board of Advisors for NPhA.

Lenora Newsome, P.D., is serving her second term on the Board and has served as President of the Board. Lenora graduated from the U.A.M.S. College of Pharmacy in 1980. She then did a residency in Hospital Pharmacy at Harris Hospital Methodist in Fort Worth, Texas. She is a member of Phi Delta Chi Fraternity and is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where her major was pre-pharmacy.

Lenora is a member of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and the Arkansas Pharmacists Association. She is also a member of the Arkansas Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Association and the National Pharmacists Association of Arkansas. Lenora has worked as a Pharmacist at Brookshire Pharmacy in El Dorado since 1985 and is currently the Pharmacy Manager. She is a member of the New Providence Baptist Church in Smackover.

Benji D. Post

Benji D. Post was appointed to the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy on June 20, 2005 by Governor Mike Huckabee. His term commenced on June 30, 2005 and will expire on June 30, 2011. Benji received a baccalaureate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Ouachita Baptist University in 1984, and his BS degree in pharmacy from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy in 1987.

Benji is a member of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and the Arkansas Pharmacist Association. He is the Pharmacist in Charge at Fresenius Medical Pharmacy in Maumelle, AR. Benji has also worked in chain pharmacy, independent pharmacy, pharmaceutical sales and institutional pharmacy.

Benji stays busy in his free time coaching youth sports, hunting and speaking for school and civic groups. After living in Pine Bluff for 20 years he and his family have relocated to Mayflower where they are enjoying the small town life. He is married to Tracie Sapp Post and they have 2 children, Matthew and Michael.

Governor Mike Huckabee appointed Buddy Bowden to the State Board of Pharmacy on July 1, 2002. Buddy grew up in Hope Arkansas and graduated from Hope High School in 1944. He joined the Air Force to train as a pilot. When the war ended, he chose an Honorable Discharge from the service to return home to Arkansas. Buddy married his childhood sweetheart, Alice Jones, in August, 1947. Buddy attended Henderson State Teachers College to prepare for a degree in pharmacy. He graduated from the College of the Ozarks with a B.S. degree in Pharmacy in 1950. He was awarded the Doctor of Pharmacy degree in November, 1981.

Buddy served as an Inspector for the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy for six years. He was also the Arkansas Pharmacy Association's Director of State Drug Utilization Review Program for over five years. He was the owner of two professional pharmacies in Austin, Texas for twenty years, and he also owned a pharmacy in Louisiana. Buddy has served as a Hospital Pharmacy Director, Sales Representative for Eli Lilly, Retail Pharmacy Manager and a Staff Pharmacist for Independent Pharmacies. He is a member of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.

Buddy serves as a Deacon and Greeter at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Governor Mike Huckabee reappointed Sharon Capps to the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy on July 1, 2003. Sharon has served on the Board since November 19, 1997. She graduated from Stuttgart High School. She has attended Henderson State University and graduated from Baptist School of Registered Nursing with academic honors. Currently, Sharon is employed with Arkansas Gastroenterology where she assists the physicians in managing patients with liver disease.  Prior to joining the staff of Arkansas Gastroenterology, she had been in the Emergency Department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and St. Vincent Medical Center. She is board certified in Emergency Nursing.

Sharon has been actively involved in community affairs and has served as president of the local Jacyettes chapter; chaired various fundraisers for Arkansas Children's Hospital, St. Jude's, and March of Dimes; chaired the Lonoke County Arkansas Red Cross Blood Mobile; and coached elementary girl's basketball teams.  In 2004, she obtained grants and established a community support group for persons with liver disease.  She has spoken to numerous groups around the state about liver disease and is a member of the speaker bureau of Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals. 

She and her husband, Rex Capps, have been residents of England since 1972. They have two daughters and two grandsons.  Sharon and her husband attend Friendship Baptist Church in Sherwood, Arkansas.
Ross Holiman

Governor Mike Huckabee appointed Ross Holiman to the Board of Pharmacy, as a Public Member, on July 14, 1999. He was born in Prattsville, Arkansas on October 14, 1926 and graduated from Mabelvale High School in 1944. After graduation Ross entered the Navy and served until June 1946. After leaving the Navy, he began his college education in Conway at U.C.A. where he earned a BSE in Health and Physical Education in 1949. He furthered his education at the U of A Extension Graduate School in 1950 by obtaining 22 hours in his major. Mr. Holiman coached and taught from 1949 until 1951 when Southwestern Bell Telephone employed him. When he retired in 1981 from Southwestern Bell, he was the Director of Yellow Pages Operations for Arkansas. After retirement he operated Holiman National Yellow Pages Agency from 1981 to 1988. Mr. Holiman presently owns Holiman Sales Company, Inc. and is executive Secretary of the Seniors’ Golf Association of Arkansas.He has many other interests. He is a member and Deacon of Immanuel Baptist Church and is a church speaker for Gideons International in addition to serving on the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy. He enjoys many recreational activities. For instance, he is a member and former Board Member of Pleasant Valley Country Club where he plays golf and tennis. He also enjoys fishing and hunting. Mr. Holiman is married to Barbara Ann Holiman and they have one son—John Gordon Holiman.

Ronnie Norris

Ronnie Norris was reappointed to the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy in September 2007 by Governor Mike Beebe. Dr. Norris received his Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy in 1974 from the University of Arkansas College of Pharmacy. He served on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association (A.P.A.) and was President in 1996. In 1998, Dr. Norris was honored as the A.P.A. Pharmacist of the Year. He has served as President of the Arkansas Pharmacist Foundation, Secretary-Treasurer of Professional Pharmacy Services, Inc., and as a member of the Admissions Committee of the University of Arkansas College of Pharmacy. He is a member of A.P.A., A.Ph.A., and N.C.P.A. Dr. Norris is also active in the community. He has served as Chair of the Desha County Republicans. He was selected by Governor Huckabee to serve on his volunteer transition team and was appointed by Governor Huckabee to a term on the Desha County Quorum Court for 1999-2000. He is a current member of the Desha County Quorum Court.

Dr. Norris is also a past Board Member of the McGehee Chamber of Commerce. He serves as a Deacon and Team Captain of the Honduras Mission Team based at First Baptist Church in McGehee, AR.
Dr. Norris is the owner of Drug Mart Pharmacy and serves as the Director of Pharmacy at McGehee Desha County Hospital. He is married to Linda B. Norris and has two children Laura Norris Haywood and Sarah Norris Farmer.

Marilyn Sitzes

Marilyn A. Sitzes was appointed to the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy by Governor Mike Huckabee in July 2006. Marilyn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. Marilyn has practiced in many areas of pharmacy including hospital and community pharmacy and currently acts as the pharmacy manager of Fred’s Pharmacy in Hope, Arkansas. Marilyn also consults for surgery center pharmacies and has dedicated herself to helping in charity clinics throughout her professional career.
