Judge Jones is presently serving his eighth term as County
Judge of Jefferson County Arkansas. He is a graduate of
Pine Bluff High School and The University of Arkansas at
Pine Bluff where he received his degree in Criminal Justice
and Political Science. He is a member of the First Missionary
Baptist Church in Sherrill, Arkansas and is a graduate of
Leadership Pine Bluff.
Judge Jones serves on numerous boards and commissions other
then the Public Defender Commission including; The Jefferson
County Health Department Board, The Southeast Arkansas Behavioral
Health System Board. Judge Jones is the Vice-Chairman of
the Southeast Arkansas Economic Development District Board
and is Ex-Officio of the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Port
Authority Board. He serves on the Southeast Arkansas Regional
Planning Commission and the Pine Bluff Downtown Development,
Inc. Board. He is a board member on the MECA (Metropolitan
Emergency Communications Association) and is Secretary of
the Southeast Arkansas Solid Waste Board. He is a member
of the Arkansas Good Road Transportation Council Board.
He is Chairman of Arkansas Solid Waste Licensing Committee
and is Ex-Officio of Literacy Council of Jefferson County
Board and serves on the General Advisory Council for Southeast
Arkansas College as well as being a Boeuf-Tensas Regional
Irrigation Water Distribution District Board member.

Appointed to the Public Defender Commission in January of
2003, L.Wren Autrey has engaged in the practice of law in
Texarkana since 1986 and is a member of the Texarkana and
Arkansas Bar Associations. His practice has included state
and federal court trials and appeals involving labor and
employment law, criminal law, and the representation of
indigent criminal defendants in state and federal courts.
He served as Public Defender for Miller County. In addition,
he has served as City Attorney in matters before the Civil
Service Commission and in litigation involving the City
in U.S. District Court and Arkansas state courts. He is
graduate of Texarkana, Arkansas High School (1979); Washington
& Lee University at Lexington, Virginia (B.A., 1983),
and University of Arkansas Law School at Fayetteville (J.D.,
1986). A lifetime resident of Texarkana, Arkansas, Wren
is a former member of the United Way Board, the Weed &
Seed Commission; and the Volunteer Services Board; a graduate
of Leadership Texarkana; and a member of First United Methodist
Church, Texarkana, Arkansas, where he previously served
as lay leader and stewardship chairman and is currently
serving as a Board member and treasurer.
